Training, Teaching, Medical Direction & Consulting 

 

Please read for course offerings. All courses will be offered in a 2-part method of pre-requisite independent learning and an in-person theory and practical experience.  All students who attend and complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion. All courses are taught by Cathy Awad, MN, NP (PHC), a Nurse Practitioner certified in cosmetic injectables. Courses are offered in Tecumseh, Ontario. Should you wish to have the learning experience at your clinic, please contact us to discuss availability and cost which will differ from the posted rates.

Introduction to Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers course $2700

The duration of the course is 2 days with pre-requisite independent learning of approximately 20 hours of self-paced learning prior to in person theory and practicum.  This course covers best practices on cosmetic injectables and practices in Ontario, Canada.   The intensive course covers the theory and practical fundamentals of skin anatomy, skin aging, neuromodulators (botulinum toxins), and dermal fillers. Included in the course is a 1:4 ratio (maximum, often 1:2) of instructor to student ratio and a full day of injectable practical experience, each student getting the opportunity to use real products with clients and real time.  Students will learn the fundamentals of injecting, proper assessment, documentation, application of product, follow up and emergency/adverse reaction management of common injectables. 

 

Advanced Botulinum Toxin $2100

*You must have evidence of at least 10 clients treated for basic botulinum toxin/neuromodulator indications prior to taking this course. Documentation will be required to share with instructor. Client identifiers will be removed.

This course is geared towards the application of advanced botulinum toxin (neuromodulators) for the aesthetic injector that has a foundation in the basics of injection or students requiring refresher for previous learned experiences with advanced injection techniques. Treatments to be taught include: lower face, peri-oral region, migraine treatment, hyperhidrosis treatment with neurotoxin. Pre-course materials and 1 day in person live demo training included.

 

Advanced Dermal Filler $2350

*You must have evidence of at least 10 clients treated for basic dermal filler indications prior to taking this course.  Documentation will be required to share with instructor. Client identifiers will be removed.

This course is geared towards the application of advanced dermal filler application for the aesthetic injector that has a foundation in the basics of injections or students requiring a refresher for previous learned experiences with dermal fillers. Areas of application that will be discussed are: tear troughs, temples, jaw line, chin, and upper face.  Cannula technique for all dermal filler applications will be discussed in theory and practicum. Pre-course materials and 1 day in person live demo training included.

 

Introduction to Sclerotherapy $650

This 1 day, 4 hour practical course with 2 hours of pre-course material is geared towards Nurses, Physician Assistants, Medical Doctors who wish to learn to concepts of spider vein treatment into their practice.  Students will learn anatomy and physiology of lower extremity veins, vein physiology and issues, assessment and evaluation and cosmetic indications for treatment, products: dilutions, and application of, injection techniques, complication management.

 

Introduction to Mesotherapy with HA (hyaluronic acid) and PRP (platelet rich plasma) $650

This 1 day course is geared towards Nurse, Physician Assistants, Medical Doctors who wish to learn concepts of micro-needling with HA or PRP. Students will learn independently prior to the in person theory and practicum. Hands on practice will include live models and will focus on evidence-based treatment considerations. Areas of treatment will include: skin rejuvenation of the face, neck, decolletage and hands and for scalp for hair rejuvenation.  Students will be taught applications: micro-needling with pen, manual injectable techniques, alternative mesotherapy applications and cannula techniques.

Medical Direction (fees determined based on need)

As a Nurse Practitioner, Cathy Awad, MN, NP (PHC) can provide medical direction to nurses (RPN, RN or PA). To work as an independent contractor, as an aesthetic injector, certain disciplines require a Medical Director to give orders, set up accounts with companies, assist with the procurement of products, provide mentorship and ongoing learning opportunities.
